Fanfic
"Fan fiction is the way of the
culture repairing the damage done in a system where
contemporary myths are owned
by corporations instead of owned by the folk."

There is a two-fold problem in writing fan fiction, generally referred to as fanfic. At one end of the spectrum, are the die-hard fans who resent any sort of manipulation to their favorite characters, and at the other end are the dreamers who run amok with ideas and situations. Where is the correct balance? Well, it depends on your definition of fanfic. There are basic rules to writing fanfic both in terms of pleasing the fans of the show and in staying within copyright laws when interpreting someone else's character. The interpretation of these rules varies. Because it is not my area of expertise, all HC fanfic has now migrated to another website where the webmaster, Kate, is experienced in writing, reading, and evaluating fanfic.
